KASIKAS SA DALAN (DRUM, BUGLE,  LYRE AND COMPETITION)

A street performance of synchronized and colorful music-and-movement exhibition tuned to the melodies created by the sets of drum, bugle and lyre, creatively performed in the city’s streets and in open spaces by the participating DBLCs.

Date of Competition:     February 19  8AM-12NN at the City’s Streets / Open Arena 2pm-4PM at the Open Arena, New City Hall, Jesus V. Ayala Avenue

Participation:        

1) Qualified to join are DBLC contingents composed of only elementary public and private school pupils who play drums, lyre and bugle instruments as well as majorettes and flag bearers.
2) The use of any pistonized bugle is not allowed in the competition and grounds for disqualification

Requirements:      

1) The competing groups should composed of the following:

- 60 to 80 instrumentalists/musical players inclusive of at least 10 buglers, and
- 30-40 of majorettes, flag bearers or movers.  		 

2) Costumes of the participants must be modest and in decent form.
3) A minimum of 8 minutes and a maximum of 12 minutes are allotted for the showdown performance.
4) Designated representatives of all participating contingents are required to attend the Final Briefing session held a day before the competition.

Mechanics:            

1) Employment of dangerous stunts and acrobatic movements are discouraged. However, any participating group who desire to perform dangerous stunts should use safety precautions and equipments.
2) All participating groups will be briefed as to where the agreed-upon indicating marks or signs shall be placed to guide them in the preparation and shall serve as warning in consideration of the performance time allotted. The signs shall be as follows: Green Flag – Start; Yellow Flag – Last 5 Minutes Warning and Red Flag – TIME IS UP/STOP. Consumed time of the participants shall be announced every after performance.
3) The participating contingents are judged on the following criteria:
