NATIONAL RONDAL-AWIT COMPETITION 2010

An exquisite string ensemble and vocal solo competition participated by the different music ensemble of the country.

OFFICIAL GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS:

1. The competition is open to all rondalla groups in the country either school-based or community-based.
2. This event is divided into two (2) categories:
 
Junior (Children Category) Ages 7 to 12 years old
Senior (Youth/Adult) Ages 13 and above
3. Each category requires a minimum number of 10 and maximum number of 26 rondalla players, soloist and conducter/conductress.
4. The participating rondalla ensemble for both categories shall play three (3) pieces: Two (2) pieces of their own choice with a maximum of 15 minutes performance and medley is not allowed. One (1) piece shall be interpreted with a song with a maximum of 5 minutes performance.
5. The vocal rendition for both categories shall observe the following:
  The soloist DOES NOT NECESSARILY be a part of the rondalla players,
BUT must be included in the required number of participants.
The song should be Tagalog or in Vernacular and Medley is not allowed
6. Two (2) points shall be deducted from the judge's score sheet for every minute exceeding the time alloted. The time count starts upon the playing of the first note of the first song.
7. A special award is given to the Best Conductor per category and shall receive a cash prize of P5,000.00 each plus Certificate of Recognition.
8. A set of judges shall be assigned by the Execom who are well known for their achievement and stature in the field of music and performing arts preferably coming from outside of Davao Region or have gained a National Stature. Their decision shall base on the results of the competition and shall be final and irrevocable.

11. The competition date shall be on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 4:00 o' clock in the afternoon at the Atrium, new City Hall, JV Ayala Avenue, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
12. Deadline for the submission of entries shall be announced. Online registration can also be made through wwww.musikahansatagum.com or interested participants can download application forms from www.musikahansatagum.com
and send it to Musikahan sa Tagum secretariat by surface mail or email (tagumcity_tourism@yahoo.com) or hand carry the filled up forms to the City Tourism Office at Beach Volleydrome, Rotary Park, Pioneer Avenue, Tagum City.
13. Official briefing will be at the Basketball Gym, Rotary Park, Tagum City, Philippines.
